The McMichael Canadian Art Collection offers its visitors a unique and truly Canadian experience. From the art within the gallery on its walls to the surrounding landscape, the McMichael is the perfect gallery for an introduction to Canada’s art, its peoples, their cultures and their history.
Renowned for its devotion to collecting only Canadian art, the McMichael permanent collection consists of over 7,000 works by historic and present-day Canadian artists, including Tom Thomson, the Group of Seven and their contemporaries, Indigenous artists and artists from the many diasporic communities.
ART PROGRAMS & CAMPS
The McMichael offers unique visual arts programs and camps throughout the year. Highly skilled educators share their passion and knowledge with children between 4 and 12 years of age.
Students learn the basics of drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and more.
Walks that explore the beauty of our 100 acres of conservation land complement the art activities. The combination of outdoor activities with art-making enables children to discover the relationship between nature and art, ignites their inspiration, and develops their creativity.
Designed to satisfy every child’s need to play and discover, your children will walk away with friendships, great memories, artistic skills and a deeper passion for the arts.
