Discovery Leadership Camp
Monday, July 5 - Friday, July 30$570 – $750
Leadership in Training (LIT) afternoons (Grades 7 -10) can be added to any of the grade 7/8 or 9/10 half-day programs. Students will be placed in leadership positions working with young campers.
Students will develop advocacy skills, problem-solving, and conflict management skills, as well as gain experience in working with children. As “Discovery Leaders”, they will aid the teacher of the Discovery programs in delivering academic and fun programs to children grades 1-6. Different leadership styles and strategies that can be applied to a variety of situations will be explored.
Challenge Yourself Programs
Students may sign up for either a Full Day of Language and Maths or a Half Day of ONE of Language or Math. Both programs will include instruction in learning strategies, critical thinking, study skills, communication, and self-advocacy.
This program will incorporate a variety of English skills including the writing, reading, and communication skills so necessary for the success of Middle and High School students. Teaching will be individualized and reflect grade-appropriate Ministry of Education expectations. Skill areas addressed each week will include:

Geometry and Spatial Sense • Measurement • Patterning and Algebra • Data Management and Probability
Students will be introduced to a variety of computer and iPad software and applications and Google Chromebooks, all of which are designed to assist with schoolwork – focusing on planning and organization
Afternoon Fitness & Other Activities (COVID dependent)
Recreational swimming at Shendy’s Swim School (25 Scarsdale Road), Field Trips, Yoga, Rock- Climbing, Nature Walks and Music.
