Our unique STEM certified program where “kids are doctors for a week” filled up quickly again this year so we have just opened another session in Richmond Hill the week of July 22-26 for ages 7-9 only. Camp that week will be held at 300 Major Mackenzie Dr. West in Richmond Hill (Alexander Mackenzie HS) 9am-3:30pm. Free before care 8:30a-9am and free after care from 3:30-4pm. Paid extended care is available from 4pm-5pm for and additional fee. Campers receive a free Medics Camp T-shirt with their registration.
Each day of each camp theme week and each age group is completely different so kids enjoy a new experience as they age up. Topics for Medics Camp Discover theme include: Germs and disease transmission, heart and the cardiovascular system, lungs and the respiratory system, bones, muscles and the skeletal system, baby care and delivery, medication and injections along with first aid skills related to topics covered earlier in the week including choking and CPR. Kids will use real medical equipment in our vital signs stations, have the opportunity to observe a pig heart dissection (optional), view x-rays and apply a fake cast. They will use dental models to identify teeth with cavities and learn proper brushing skills. Medics will learn about germs and then test their handwashing skills. They will learn how to feed and hold a baby, wrap them up like a burrito and how to keep babies safe. Medical professionals we will be highlighting this week include: public health and infectious disease doctors, pharmacists, cardiologists, hematologists, pulmonologists, respiratory therapists, radiologists, physiotherapists, occupational health therapists, physiatrists, orthopedists, chiropractors, dentists, paramedics, emergency room doctors, nurses, midwives, obstetricians and more….
Medics Camp believes kids learn best while having fun! Our programs are age based, learner driven and designed to be engaging, educational and enriching.
