Our Ignited Flames group begins each morning in a community circle. We have a focused activity invitation for the day as well as intentionally leaving space for personal exploration and inquiry from the children. Some activities that this group could learn about are geocaching, animal tracking, whittling and tool use, starting fires, mindfulness, animal care at the farm, planting and harvesting, shelter building and more! They could spend their time on a project they are picking up from the previous session, or an imaginative game they want peers to join in on, sometimes they might be seeking quiet reflection time or a chance for an artistic outlet. We tell stories, play games, do science projects, nature identification – you name it! Always at the interest of the child. Our job as educators is to foster a LOVE of learning, and we do this by providing opportunities and experiences for students to explore their interests, how they learn, and where their learning can lead them.

Our hope is to ignite a sense of community, responsibility and joy in each child to be stewards of our earth family.
