Why We Like It: Every visit feels different depending on the season, and younger children never seem to tire of the animals. A trip to the zoo also builds in plenty of physical activity as families explore the expansive grounds. Food is available on site, but there are also picnic areas for those who prefer to bring their own lunch. The gift shop offers a wide range of souvenirs, including plenty of affordable items that kids can purchase with their own allowance money.
Royal Ontario Museum (ROM)
Best for: Curious kids, history buffs, and science-loving families

It’s an excellent year-round destination and one of our favourite places for a rainy-day family outing. Its central location also makes it easy to pair with other downtown attractions for a full day of exploring.
Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO)
Best for: Creative families, art lovers, and rainy-day outings

Little Canada

Little Canada is an immersive attraction that celebrates Canada through incredibly detailed miniature landscapes and cityscapes. Why We Like It: Little Canada is one of those rare attractions that appeals equally to young children, teens, parents, and grandparents. Every visit reveals tiny details you missed the first time, making it a fun attraction to experience again and again. The optional Little Me experience is especially memorable, giving families the chance to create a miniature version of themselves that’s permanently added to Little Canada. Ripley's Aquarium of Canada
Best for: Families with children of all ages, marine life enthusiasts, and rainy-day adventures

Why We Like It: Ripley’s Aquarium is one of those attractions that children never seem to outgrow. It’s an excellent destination on rainy or cold days, and because it’s located beside the CN Tower and Roundhouse Park, it’s easy to turn your visit into a full day of downtown family fun.
Canada's Wonderland
Best for: Thrill-seekers, families with school-aged children, and waterpark fun

Canada’s Wonderland is Canada’s largest amusement park, offering more than 200 attractions, including roller coasters, family rides, live entertainment, and Splash Works water park. Why We Like It: If your family enjoys amusement parks, Canada’s Wonderland is one of the easiest memberships to get good value from. Between the rides, water park, and seasonal festivals, every visit can feel a little different. It’s also a great attraction to visit for just a few hours, making it easy to stop by on a warm summer evening instead of trying to fit everything into one long day.
LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Toronto
Best for: LEGO fans, and rainy-day outings

Why We Like It: For LEGO-loving kids, this is one attraction that rarely gets old. It’s an excellent rainy-day destination, and because it’s located inside Vaughan Mills, families can easily combine it with shopping or a meal.
Treetop Trekking
Best for: Active families, adventurous kids, and outdoor fun
Location: Multiple locations across Ontario

Treetop Trekking offers exciting outdoor adventures featuring zip lines, aerial game treks, suspended bridges, and climbing challenges set high in the forest canopy. Reptilia
Best for: Animal lovers, curious kids, and rainy-day adventures
