Rouge Camps offers highly rated teacher led sports camps for ages 4-15 across York Region! Our Camp Directors, with physical education and coaching expertise, love helping kids learn to love being physically active and grow in confidence. The teacher advantage is interwoven throughout the organization, whether it is the staff we are able to recruit to the program we are able to develop. Our program is designed for both athletes and non-athletes to have so much fun that they beg to come back.
There are two general programs at Rouge Camps:
Sports Camp (Ages 4-13)
Rabbits (Ages 4-5), Deer (Ages 6-7), Foxes (Ages 8-10) & Bears (Ages 11-13)
Campers are exposed to a number of different sports each week and the Fox/Bear age groups even get to choose electives, that they participate in each day of the week so they can do their favourite sports. Rouge Camps helps campers grow in skill, but most importantly have fun and grow in confidence. We are not an elite sports camp, but both beginners and elite athletes have a great time. There is also fun educational periods and arts and crafts for our younger campers. We don’t try to be an elite sports camp, but most campers love how active and outdoors the program is and that it feels more like a traditional overnight camp, than a city sports camp. All campers come together for a fully themed camp-style game at the end of the day, which is always a highlight!
2. Leadership in Training (Ages 13-15)
Camp is the perfect place to discover your potential. Many young teens do not see their own potential as leaders or do not have the environment to hone their skills. The LIT program at Rouge Camps is the ideal environment to learn to lead. Leading young campers, allows LIT participants to develop confidence and put into practice leadership theory. This all happens under the guidance of the LIT Counsellor who typically has experience as an executive of a High School council. It is truly amazing to see LIT participants grow over each three week session!
We don’t forget about the parents’ experience either. There are hot meal plans, daily email updates, and updated photos and stories on IG as well!
