The 2026 Dorset Snowball Winter Carnival takes place Friday, Feb. 13 and Saturday, Feb. 14!
The Dorset Snowball Winter Carnival, known to most simply as Snowball, was created by the volunteer committee for the Dorset Recreation Centre in 1991 as a community event and fundraiser for the Centre. Snowball takes place on the Friday and Saturday of Family Day Weekend each year and has grown from an event attended mostly by Dorset residents to one attended by more than 1,000 people from all over Ontario.
Snowball presents a wide variety of activities including horse-drawn wagon rides, face painting, cardboard toboggan races, a hockey shoot-out, silent auction and more! New this year, we have a chainsaw carver and an interactive walk-through zoo featuring exotic animals. You can jump right in and have fun with the Zorb balls, axe throwing, and try out some kick sleds or a virtual dog sled tour. There will be some great food vendors, and you must try the maple taffy!
Visit the Dorset Museum between 10am and 3pm.
