Say the words “video games” and your kids are bound to stop and listen. Located in the ActivityPlex at 150 Dunkirk Road, Suite, 21, Code Ninjas St. Catharines is pleased to announce its grand reopening on Saturday December 7th at 1 pm, bringing the world of coding and computer science to children ages five to 14 in the community and their families. Mayor Mat Siscoe will be in attendance for the ribbon cutting ceremony taking place at 2:00 pm.
To celebrate the reopening, Code Ninjas St. Catharines is hosting an exciting open house and demo day open to the community on Saturday, December 7, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Children and families are invited to attend and participate in complimentary game building sessions and STEM learning activities and earn raffle tickets for the chance to win the grand prize – a Bambu Lab A1 Mini 3D printer. The final draw will take place on Sunday December 14th at 3:45 pm at the conclusion of Computer Science Education Week.
The reopening also coincides with Computer Science Education Week, December 9th to the 15th. Exposing kids to coding education early will open doors for future employment, particularly in the Niagara and surrounding regions where many industry sectors utilize coding. Families in St. Catharines, Welland, Thorold, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Niagara Falls and beyond will appreciate the convenient location, located directly off the QEW. Code Ninjas St. Catharines also has a calendar of events happening during Computer Science Education Week including the Microsoft MakeCode Arcade challenge, a two hour Code Ninjas Game Jam where the winner will be entered into a National Competition.
