This Family Day Weekend, let your creativity shine with fun, engaging activities for all ages and warm, delicious treats. Enjoy the museum’s story corner, featuring books for all ages that celebrate Black lived experiences and stories. Sample a scone fresh from the museum’s kitchen, featuring spreads from local Chef Christopher Loney – aka Honey Guru. Create something special during drop-in craft workshops by guest artists Jasmine Vanstone (Saturday) and Janet Hinkle (Monday).
On Family Day Monday, the team from Gibson House Museum will join in the fun with thaumatrope-making – an optical illusion toy that was the forerunner of the modern motion picture – alongside Leteni Kahawa, serving complimentary warm drinks (first come, first served for a total of 50 drinks).
Join Scarborough Museum in celebrating Black History Month with activities that explore what it means to create space for one’s community, weaving together stories, food, art, and shared experiences.
