Experience the Historic Fort Willow Conservation Area come to life this October!
The Festival at Fort Willow is an annual event where visitors will experience what life was like at Fort Willow pre-European contact, during the Fur Trade and the War of 1812.
The Festival at Fort Willow is hosted by the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority, the Township of Springwater, the Friends of Historic Fort Willow and the Rotary Club of Barrie.
Activities include:
- Hear the cannons roar and watch as the the King’s Militia demonstrate a firing line
- See how ships were built and tie ropes like a sailor
- Make candles like settlers
- Try on Voyager costumes
- Watch a blacksmith work metal
- Learn about lives and traditions of Indigenous Peoples
- Discover the history of the fur trade in our area
- Muster up and march in the King’s Army
- Smell delicious cooking demonstrations
