The National Ballet presents Swan Lake

Saturday, March 8, 2025 - Saturday, March 22, 2025

Artistic Director Emerita Karen Kain staged and directed her Swan Lake in tribute to a company and ballet that defined her illustrious career. Newly revisited this season, this production emphasizes the drama and beauty that have made Swan Lake the definitive classical work.

Swan Lake is the epitome of classical ballet, beloved the world over for its drama, Tchaikovsky’s achingly beautiful score and timeless choreography. Artistic Director Emerita Karen Kain emphasizes the love story at the heart of Swan Lake in this staging inspired by Erik Bruhn’s landmark version but told through her unique experience of the work. Newly revisited this season, Swan Lake is a heartfelt commemoration of Kain’s illustrious 50-year career with The National Ballet of Canada.
