Celebrate one of Canada’s most recognizable caterpillars during Woolly Bear October at Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory!
Throughout October, families can learn fascinating facts about these fuzzy caterpillars while enjoying special activities included with regular admission. Follow the Woolly Bear Fact Hunt through the Conservatory, complete five fact stops and earn a Woolly Bear Explorer Badge sticker. Kids can also get creative with caterpillar-themed crafts and colouring and visit the Insect Gallery to see Woolly Bear caterpillars up close.
On Saturdays and Sundays, join Nature Interpreters for a Woolly Bear-themed story at 11:00 AM. At 2:00 PM, head outdoors for a guided Woolly Bear Hunt to search for caterpillars and learn about their amazing adaptations for surviving the Canadian winter. Outdoor hunts are weather permitting.
