Family Time on the Slopes
Skiing has become our favourite winter family activity – it’s a guaranteed fun day for us, you can’t beat being outdoors all day, it’s active, it’s healthy and even a little competitive.
None of us are expert skiers, so we all improve with each outing and this group effort is alot of fun – giving each other the old pat on the back throughout the day. It’s a blast filming each other racing down the slopes, or wiping out on a baby ski jump! The real icing on the cake for me is the bonding time spent chatting on the ski lifts with the kids, no devices in hand, having their full attention and looking at their rosy cheeks and big smiles – that’s worth every penny!
Southern Ontario may not be home to any real big mountains but it does have hills big enough for the whole family to have plenty of fun on and many offer private and group lessons. These smaller ‘mountains’ are also ideal for learners – which makes Southern Ontario the perfect place for kids to learn to ski or snowboard!

1 thought on “Winter Fun Guide: Skiing & Snowboarding”
I was reading the article and thought that parents in the area might be interested in Evolve Snow Camps. Its a Ski-School that runs every weekend in the winter up at Mont St Louis Moonstone. It is a pretty unique ski school because it focusses in on teaching children freestyle skills in the park! http://evolvesnowcamps.com/
