The Age of Dinosaurs and Age of Mammals Galleries Opening Activities

Friday, December 5, 2025 - Sunday, December 7, 2025

Expanded by 3,500 square feet, the gallery features new displays and programming — including the permanent return of Zuul, one of the best-preserved large dinosaurs ever found.

Special opening weekend activations available December 5-7, include Chomp! How Dinosaurs Ate, a facilitated touch table program to learn more about dinosaur diets through teeth, fossilized plants, and skin casts, plus a playful dino dress-up selfie station.

In addition to Zuul, visitors will encounter an incredible life-sized fight scene between Zuul and Gorgosaurus, and new dedicated display areas for Wendiceratops and Cretaceous theropods (including tyrannosaurs and “raptors”). The new gallery space will also offer even more space to admire longstanding favourites from the collections, like Tyrannosaurus rex, famous hadrosaurs, and the Jurassic marine fossils.
