Young astronauts rejoice, it’s time to take a trip into space! Learn all about the awesome and mysterious wonders of our solar system and beyond. Put your spacesuits on and get ready for an adventure! Our younfer campers will be exploring how to:
-Build and launch your own rocket
-Design and construct a colony on the Moon like NASA’s Artemis mission
-Create a greenhouse on Mars
-Take part in astronaut training and see if you have what it takes to live on the International Space Station
Our Sophomore and Junior campers will learn about all the things we need in order to complete a years long journey to Mars and back. Campers will apply the same concepts and tools that scientists and engineers are using to prepare for a mission to Mars. Using the various makerspace tools and equipment to construct your very own Mars colony! This session is all about exploring space and the solar system. The various older age-groups will be working on different components of a “Mars Mission”.
Concepts related to life in space:
-How to store energy in space
-How to grow food in space
-Integration of electronics and electrical circuits and integrating them in the projects
-Using LEDs, soldering, switches, coding materials
-3-D printing rockets
-Solar electricity propulsion
