Each year, Canada Post’s postal elves help Santa answer more than a million letters from children around the world. Here’s how your little ones can join in the fun and receive a special letter from Santa!
Santa Will Write a Letter Back!
Children can write to Santa about their Christmas wishes, favourite activities, hobbies, or anything they’d like to share. They can even include drawings and questions!
Santa replies to letters in many languages, including Braille, so children from around the world can take part.
Best of all, it’s completely free to send a letter to Santa from anywhere in Canada — no postage stamp required!
Just remember to:
- Include your return address so Santa knows where to send his reply.
- Place letters from children in the same family together in one envelope.
- Drop your letter into any Canada Post mailbox or take it to your local post office.

Don’t Miss the 2026 Mailing Deadline!
To give Santa and his postal elves enough time to reply, mail your child’s letter by December 9, 2026. Sending it earlier is always a good idea, especially during the busy holiday season!

Canada Post cannot guarantee delivery dates, but Santa and his elves work hard to answer every letter they receive.
Writing to Santa from Outside Canada?
Children around the world are welcome to write to Santa, too! Just remember to include a return address and the appropriate international postage to send your letter to Canada. Santa takes care of the return postage.
International families should send their letters as early as possible to allow extra time for delivery.
