Throwing a Cupcake Party

Cupcake themed party table

A SWEET party theme everyone will love!

Presentation is an important part of planning any successful party, and children’s parties are no exception, in fact presentation and themes are essential for a kids party! Planning around a theme creates extra fun for your little party guests that will have them talking about your birthday extravaganza all year long!

There are hundreds of different party themes to choose from, classic comic book characters and Disney Princess themes, to more contemporary video game themes. Parents have got their work cut out, and they need all the help they can get when it comes to pulling off the perfect party. Snacks, games, and party food are all important, but nothing quite wins over a crowd like the grandeur of a great birthday cake. Customized and personalized birthday cakes are easy to come by, and some blogs even have guides for baking and piping your own customized cakes to fit the theme of your party. But if you really want to cover all bases and have a birthday cake and enough treats to go around, why not set up a cupcake party?

Thanks to shows like “Cupcake Wars”, the wonders of baking cupcakes have achieved recognition worldwide. Bakeries and pastry shops selling gourmet cupcakes have popped up in just about every city, and cupcakes have evolved into must-have desserts. Often the centerpeice on “SugarStars”, cupcakes are an amazing treat that are easily customizable and fit into just about any party theme. Matt McAuliffe, product development manager for Marks and Spencer, even said that their cupcake range was the fastest selling cakes in decades. “The economic climate has been about self-treating,” he said, “and cupcakes are very much an affordable indulgence.”

Cupcakes aren’t just pretty and delicious, they’re quite easy and cheap to make too.

The traditional recipe for cupcakes is simple:

  • 1 cup of butter
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 3 cups of flour
  • 4 eggs.

Add in some of your favourite flavours like chocolate, strawberry, or even just plain old vanilla, and you’ve got a recipe for a sure-win!

Giant cupcake cake
Don’t just settle with having dozens and dozens of cupcakes, however. Go the extra mile and use a giant cupcake in place of a regular birthday cake. These huge, cream-filled cakes are a marvel to look at, and they taste amazing too!
