Visiting lavender fields makes for a colourful day trip or weekend getaway from the city! Whether with the family or just you and your special someone, experience incredible views of lavender stretched as far as the eye can see. After a day spent in endless fields of gorgeous blooms, shop for luxurious lavender products like essential oils, soaps and scent sachets.

Read on for some local lavender farms to get lost in, that are within a few hours or less from the city. These farms are a popular summer photo opportunity! Lavender season typically runs from late June to mid-August, but you’ll need to check dates and times with the farm at their website or by contacting them directly as each location is different.

Pingle's Farm

You may know Pingle’s Farm best for it’s fun family attractions and events, but it is also a lovely spot to visit for its flower fields! The farm features rows of lavender along with nine acres of flowers, including over 30 varieties of sunflowers and 20 varieties of wildflowers.

Gray Silo Lavender Farm

A family run lavender farm located between the beautiful towns of Uxbridge and Port Perry. The farm offers special events, essential oil, lavender products, and more. Visit their website to prepurchase tickets.

Christel Lake Lavender Farm

Located northeast of Toronto near Uxbridge and Port Perry, this farm features lavender fields that encircle a spring-fed lake, providing stunning photo opportunities. Kids can stay entertained at the on-site playground with swings and a trampoline. This farm also has a gift shop offering a variety of lavender-infused products. The farm operates Fridays through Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily, and visits must be scheduled online at least one day in advance.

The Giving Place

Located in the quaint town of Mt. Albert, Ontario. This small, all-natural, pesticide-free family farm has planted over 2,000 English and French lavender plants. The Giving Place is a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of busy days. The farm is open Monday to Saturday however it is closed for walk in’s so you will need to make an appointment. The Sunday Market is open from 10 am to 2 pm and offers a wide range of natural products. 

Rocky Meadows Lavender

A variety of workshops and events will take place this summer at Rocky Meadows Lavender Farm, just an hour west of Belleville in beautiful Prince Edward County. Pre-book your appointments so you don’t miss out on yoga, reflexology, crafting with lavender (wreath and lavender wands), art in the lavender fields and aromatherapy education workshops.

 

Essentially Lavender

Located in Bruce County Essentially Lavender offers tours of their beautiful gardens that include lavender, a labyrinth, shrub and perennial gardens, a xeriscape garden and an apiary. Accommodation is also available if you want to extend your visit. Visit their lavender boutique for unique lavender products such as lemon lavender room spray, essential herb blend and more.

Purple Hill Lavender Farm

Located in Creemore Ontario, Purple Hill Lavender offers public visits and hosts private events on their 50 acre lavender farm. Visit them in June for their Purple Hill Festival featuring live music, vendors, kids activities! Open seven days a week in July, including Canada Day. Purchase tickets on their website.

The Purple Hollow

Visit this boutique lavender farm in Meaford this summer through ticketed events, private photography sessions, yoga in the fields, and more. The farm shop offers handcrafted soaps, luxurious lavender and botanical products, local artisan goods, and seasonal bouquets.

Avalon Lavender Farm

Stroll through 30,000 lavender plants in seven different varieties at Avalon Farm while taking in the views of the Nottawasaga River’s North Branch. From June to September, you can join free yoga sessions in the Celtic Stone Circle. You can also cut your own lavender bundle.

Hereward Farms

Hereward Farms, located just over an hour from Toronto in the Hills of Headwaters, offers more than just lavender picking. During Lavender season, you can enjoy the Lavender Festival, have a picnic with charcuterie boxes and wine, and join painting workshops. The farm also has a Lavender Lounge + Boutique that sells skincare and homecare products.

Terre Bleu Lavender Farm

Stroll the fields or shop the store for high quality lavender products. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Your admission gets you a mini-tour, free time to take pictures and a visit in the pop-up shop. Photography services offered. Open Tuesday to Friday.

 

Lochland Botanicals

Lochland Botanicals is an over 50 acre family farm that offers a vast array of herbs and flowers, in the Milton area. They offer U-Pick herbs and flowers, wellness-based classes and workshops, as well as toxin free, artisanal herbal and floral products for culinary, cosmetic, and aromatherapy purposes. You can also shop online. Tickets must be purchased online, in advance.

Kelso Lavender

Kelso Lavender is a family-run lavender farm in Milton, established in 2017. The farm is home to over 16,000 lavender plants grown through organic farming methods. You can shop their amazing lavender products online. 

Stonewell Farm

Stroll the fields or shop the store for high quality lavender products. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Your admission gets you a mini-tour, free time to take pictures and a visit in the pop-up shop. Photography services offered. Open Tuesday to Friday.

 

Ridgeway Lavender

Head over to Port Colborne and take a tour of the lavender fields at Ridgeway Lavender. Yoga classes are available at the farm on select dates. Choose from pre-potted lavender plants while visiting and add a piece of the farm to your own garden. There are a variety of different essential oils for purchase. Try lavender eye mask when in need of rest and relaxation.

NEOB Lavender

This Niagara-on-the-Lake lavender Boutique allows you to roam the lavender field and aromatic greenhouse. Shop their boutique with over 200 real essential oils products made right in Niagara. Curbside pickup is available.
