Family Day Weekend Activities at Montgomery’s Inn

In celebration of Family Day and to honor Black History Month, we have 3 days of storytelling from the extraordinary Kesha Christie of Talkin’ Tales and Children’s book author Nadia Hohn.
Christie and Hohn will entertain visitors of all ages with stories about family, community, traditions, and African and Caribbean folktales.
Families can also pick up a free book, donated from the Children’s book bank, and complete a hands-on craft to take home.

When and where does it take place?

• The museum will be open from 10am-4pm for tours on Saturday, Sunday, and Holiday Monday February 15, 16, and 17th.
• Storytelling sessions will be 45 mins each, taking place in the historic house and or Community room at 11am (Christie), 1:30pm (Hohn), and 3pm (Christie) DAILY.
• The Reading nook will be open 10am-4pm – visitors can relax and read donated books from the Children’s Book Bank.
• Visitors can do hands-on crafts from 11am-4pm.

• Free Self-guided tours of the historic house

This event is geared toward intergenerational groups, families and adults with children.

Just show up, no registration is required!

What’s something special to look forward to?
• Unique oral storytelling performances by Kesha Christie featuring African and Caribbean folktales.
• An interactive reading of Nadia Hohn’s newest publication, Patty Dreams, as well as A Likkle Miss Lou.
• Free children’s books by Black authors.
