Late July through to September is peach season in Ontario. You can buy local fresh peaches from farmers’ markets and even your local grocer. But a lot more fun, and educational, is to head out to a local peach growing farm and pick your own.Â
Introducing to children how things grow is increasingly important in our modern world where kids can so easily feel disconnected. It makes a great day trip, the whole family will enjoy. Planning these types of outings each year with your kids is a simple way to create strong memories – not to mention you’ll get to take home some delicious juicy peaches!
Niagara region is where you will find many of Ontario’s Peach farms – with at least 15 varieties of peaches some of the more popular types are Fantasia, Harrow Beauty, Garnet Beauty and Red Havens.Â
